Shweta is the Chief Human Resources Officer for Citi South Asia and is a key member of Citi’s India Management Committee and Asia Pacific HR Leadership Team.

She is a business focused HR leader with an international career. In her over 16 years with Citi, Shweta has done several roles including HR Advisor for various businesses across Institutional Clients Group (ICG), Global Consumer Bank (GCB), Global Functions (GF) and Operations & Technology (O&T) and specialist roles in Talent, Leadership development and Learning.

In her current role, she is Citi’s senior most HR officer in South Asia, covering India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. Prior to her current role, she has worked across the region covering several markets, based in Hong Kong and Singapore. She moved to Hong Kong in 2014 as the Head of Talent & Diversity for Asia Pacific, responsible for identifying and implementing initiatives around Talent Assessment & Development and leading the Diversity agenda for Citi’s Asia Pacific franchise. Since her taking over, she led the rollout of several initiatives including ‘My Career’ which aims to empower employees to take charge of their career, Asia’s Inspiring Women Leaders Program intended to strengthen female pipeline, recognized several employee networks, and played a key role in the equalization of benefits for domestic partners.

Shweta has also worked as the Regional HR Advisor for the Global Consumer Bank based in Singapore, where she worked with Consumer business leaders across Asia Pacific to provide end to end HR advisory and support.

In the early part of her career, Shweta was based in Mumbai as the Head of HR for O&T and Global Functions for Citi South Asia. In her earlier stint, she led Talent and Leadership Development at Citi South Asia, where she was also responsible for Citi’s entry level hiring strategy.

Shweta is a certified Coach and an accredited Leadership trainer at Citi. Her other professional certifications include trainer for Myer Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) and SHL’s Occupational Testing.

Prior to joining Citi, Shweta has worked with Colgate Palmolive and Unilever. She is an Economics graduate and holds a Master’s degree in Human Resources from XLRI - Xavier School of Management. She is married and has a thirteen-year-old son. Her hobbies include outdoor sports and travelling.
