Johnny C. Taylor, Jr., SHRM-SCP is President and Chief Executive Officer of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), the world’s largest HR professional society. He previously served a two-year term as Chair of the SHRM Board of Directors in 2005 and 2006.
Mr. Taylor is the immediate past President and Chief Executive Officer of the Thurgood Marshall College Fund, which represents nearly 300,000 students attending public Historically Black Colleges and Universities. Between April 2010 and Jan. 2012, he headed the Operations function of IndianOil’s Maharashtra State Office, which oversees the largest number of bulk storage terminals & depots in a State. As Managing Director of IndianOil(Mauritius) Ltd., the Company’s overseas subsidiary, during 2012-2015, Mr. Mohapatra led a team of young professionals, registering sizeable growth in market share and profitability. He was also on the Board of Mer Rouge Oil Storage Terminal, a joint venture formed by four MNCs to set up modern oil storage facilities in Mauritius. Under his inspiring leadership as head of IndianOil's West Bengal State Office, the OMCs released a record 10.5 lakh PMUY (Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana) connections in the first 116 days of the scheme, that is, over 9,000 new connections a day.
Always eager to try out new things, Mr. Mohapatra achieved cashless transaction facilities at almost all Indian Oil fuel stations in West Bengal State and piloted a smart auto-fuel complex that has come up at Rajarhat in Kolkata. Being a person with human touch, Mr. Mohapatra initiated his direct interaction with Young Officers of different functions in the State Office, which has been greatly appreciated. He also conceptualized and launched the now acclaimed Fab-14, which is a novel mentoring system within the channel partners. Widely travelled in Europe, USA, Africa and Southeast Asia, Mr. Mohapatra presented papers in several national and international forums and published a number of articles in international journals and supply chain reference books
Chief Human Resources Officer, Citi South Asia
Shweta is Chief Human Resources Officer for Citi South Asia. She took over the role effective September 1st, 2018. Prior to this, she was the Regional HR Advisor for the Global Consumer Bank based in Singapore, where she worked with GCB business heads to provide end to end HR advisory and support.
In her over 13 years with Citi, Shweta has done several roles including HR Advisor for various businesses across ICG, GCB, GF and O&T and specialist roles in Talent, Leadership development and Learning. She moved to Hong Kong in 2015 as the Head of Talent & Diversity for Asia Pacific, responsible for identifying and implementing initiatives around Talent Assessment and Development, and leading the Diversity agenda for Citi’s Asia Pacific franchise. Since her taking over, she led the rollout of several initiatives including ‘My Career’ which aims to empower employees to take charge of their career, Asia’s Inspiring Women Leaders Program intended to strengthen female pipeline, recognized several employee networks, and played a key role in the equalization of benefits for domestic partners. Prior to moving to HK, Shweta was based in Mumbai as the Head of HR for O&T and Global Functions for Citi South Asia. In her earlier stint, she led Talent and Leadership Development at Citi South Asia, where she was also responsible for Citi’s entry level hiring strategy.
Shweta is a certified Coach and an accredited Leadership trainer at Citi. Her other professional certifications include trainer for Myer Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) and SHL’s Occupational Testing.
Prior to joining Citi, Shweta has worked with Colgate Palmolive and Unilever. She is an Economics graduate and holds a Master’s degree in Personnel Management and Industrial Relations. She is married, and has a ten-year-old son. Her hobbies include outdoor sports and travelling.
